Hands | Week 41 of Project 52

I’m always on the lookout for ideas for preschool activities and ways to keep Little Man busy.  More accurately, I should say, I’m always on the lookout for ways to proactively and positively channel his energy and focus!  He is still very much into Dinosaurs and this little project took only a few materials to make and kept him busy and entertained for a while, which roughly translates to about 20 minutes… but in keeping-a-preschoolers-attention timeframe, it’s an eternity!

We took some sand, plaster and water, buried some toy dinos and set it out in the sun to dry.  Then he happily dug them up, narrating his paleontological efforts every step of the way.  This kid is a professional, already and without any formal training!

Watching kids at work, and by that I mean play, is inspiring.  Their absolute engagement with imagination is something to revere.

Hopefully, as we grow older we don’t completely lose that ability to engage with our imagination.
