Nothing Rhymes with Orange

Week 42 | Orange

According to a quick Google search, no other word in the English language rhymes with orange.  Can you believe it?  I do.  Why? Because I’m a mom, and I certainly don’t have time to test the theory!  (Disclaimer:  I promise I don’t believe everything the “internets” say!  I do research all sorts of topics that are truly important to me!!!)

Orange.  It’s the color that stimulates appetite, offers rejuvenation, and promotes energy, cheer, adventure and warmth.  It’s a happy color, bright and cheerful.

It also signifies that autumn has arrived, with leaves changing colors and pumpkins everywhere.  Beautiful!  At least in some parts… here in South Texas, there’s not really impressive fall foliage without a bit of a drive, but it’s not 110 degrees, so that’s awesome! Yay Fall!

Orange also happens to be the theme this week for my personal photography project. And since there are no beautiful autumn leaves to photograph or incorporate into a photo session here, I’m working with what I have!  I try to buy flowers for the house on a regular basis to add a little bit of beauty every day, and this week’s bunch just happened to have beautiful shades of orange!

It’s important to see the beauty around us.  It is there.  Even amidst the awful.  There’s always beauty.  If you have to, make yourself look for it until it becomes automatic.  I promise your life will be better for it.
