Colors at the Comal County Fair | Week 39 of Project 52

Last week’s theme for my personal photography project was “Colors”.  Even though it’s been overcast and rainy around here, there’s plenty of color at the fair!  This was Little Man’s first time ever going to a fair and carnival, and boy oh boy, did he have fun!

Cotton candy, rides and games, oh my!  There’s so much fun to be had everywhere you look.  Watching his face light up at everything was the absolute best.

And for those of you who don’t live in New Braunfels, allow me to enlighten you about the Comal County Fair.  It is a big deal.  The whole town shuts down.  Not even joking.  There’s no school and the city offices close for it!  There’s a parade, a carnival, a fair queen contest, a rodeo, a livestock show, BBQ and chili cook offs, dancing, music, mutton busting and pig wrangling!  Whew!!  It’s a long-standing tradition that’s been going on since the 1800’s!

It’s definitely a good time and a super fun tradition!
