Stress-Free Family Photos

When was the last time you had family photos done?  Kiddos are growing and changing every day and it’s easy to let quite a bit of time go by between family portraits.

Are you putting off having family photos done because you think it’s going to be stressful.  Maybe you’ve had a family photoshoot that was stressful?

My goal is to make family photo sessions as laid back stress-free as possible.  How, you say?

For one, we talk about and plan the details ahead of time.  From how you want your photos to look, what you want to do with the photos, and the personalities and ages of each family member.  This helps to custom tailor the session to your family.

We also talk about expectations or what to expect at your session.  And a lot of that depends on the ages of your kiddos.  A photoshoot with a quiet reserved 12 year old is going to be very different than one with three year old high energy twins!

While we do plan out every photoshoot, when kiddos of any age are involved, I always follow their lead starting off.  There’s no forcing poses and direction tends to follow the mood and energy level of the kiddos.  Some children take a bit longer to warm up to new situations and some kiddos arrive with super high energy; either way it makes all the difference to take a moment or two to help settle everyone into a comfortable

Once everyone is settled, we just have fun!  This allows for the most beautiful portraits that are natural looking, relaxed and reflect the personalities of each person.

Bethany and her kiddos were recently in the studio and oh my goodness did we have fun!  With three kiddos under      we move the session along fairly quickly as attention spans are super short.

Make it a point to capture every age and stage with beautiful portraits! I’d love to talk with you about planning a family session to create portraits you’ll cherish more and more as the years go on.
