How to Prepare for a Boudoir Photoshoot

If you’re thinking about doing a boudoir photoshoot, chances are you’re wondering where to even begin…

You’re wondering how to choose a photographer. Maybe you’re a little nervous, or just anxious that your photos won’t turn out like the ones you see online. Maybe you think you’re not quite the right “type” to have a boudoir session. Or any other number of hesitations…

Well, let me help you out! First of all, these are all legit feelings that just about everyone has before a boudoir photoshoot. So you are not alone!

While it is important to choose the right photographer, a sense of professionalism may be one the most important things to consider in choosing. Quality work that uses flattering lighting and posing should be a huge consideration as well as good communication.

You need to be comfortable with your photographer in order to have a great empowering experience and beautiful portraits.

Most importantly, there is no “right type” of person for boudoir. Boudoir is for EVERY BODY. My approach to boudoir photography is a celebration of the female form. Whatever your style may be, the goal of the session is to show you that you are a work of art, whether you’re wearing lingerie or a t-shirt or just covered with a sheet.

What you wear doesn’t matter. The beauty shows through when you are allowed to just be. When you’re not trying to be anything in particular. The flattering light and posing helps but really, what’s beautiful in a portrait is you, just being you.

It’s my job as your photographer to make a space where you can relax and just be. That’s what comes through as beautiful and that’s what I’ll help you see.
