Come As You Are
I've said it once, and I'll say it again and again.
There's power in portraits.
Many people don't realize the transformation that takes place within a photo session.
Almost everyone walks through the studio door nervous and a bit apprehensive, and voices concerns about their looks, or not being photogenic, and feeling unsure.
My job is to create a space where you do not worry about any of those things. I'll check for stray hairs and lipstick on teeth, lint on clothing and all those little details. I'll guide you through posing and give you direction. I'll use light that is flattering. I've got you covered.
But here's the secret...
These details obviously help, but what truly makes a beautiful portrait is when the subject is at ease.
When you feel comfortable and like you can just be yourself, that is where the magic happens.
So while having your makeup and hair styled and wearing pretty clothes is a lot of fun, it's not necessary for beautiful portraits.
Some of my favorite sessions are "Come As You Are" Sessions - meaning exactly what it sounds like. Just you, as you are in this moment: beautiful.
The goal of every photoshoot is to create the experience where you can be yourself, whether it involves getting fancy or just showing your everyday look...
When you can just be, and connect with yourself and your beauty, there is a power that's unlocked, something that maybe you've not felt since before the world tried to shove you into a nice and neat little labeled package...
Maybe you've never connected to that part of you...
When you have the chance to just be, and not have to live up to any expectations others' have placed on you, that's when you step into your power and own your story.
You can take this feeling with you into your every day life too. It doesn't go away once the photoshoot is over. The icing on the cake is that you'll have these beautiful portraits for all time, to remind you of how you felt at this time of your life.
I'd love to talk to you more about planning a photoshoot just for you.
