Quality Over Quantity | New Braunfels Photographer

Something that comes up often during consultations is the number of images included in each package I offer.   Here in Central Texas (and everywhere really), there is no shortage of photographers offering low prices for a lot of images.  While this may seem like a bargain, the reality is you may end up with a lot of mediocre images.  And hopefully a few that are good.

One thing that sets me apart from other photographers is my idea of quality of over quantity and the number of images delivered after a photo session.

I’m quite detail oriented and intentional going into every session.  The aim is to capture expression and connection and that light that shines from within a person.  Because of this, I’m deliberate in my shooting.

During a typical portrait session, I’m not taking hundreds of photos, hoping to get some good ones.  I’m thoughtfully posing and directing and making changes in between shots, with my client’s end goal for their images in mind.

If I’m on location, with say a family, there will be more images taken due to necessity and not wanting to miss an “action” shot when kiddos are involved, but still, the intentionality is there and it’s not excessive “hope and pray” shooting.

Lifestyle or documentary style sessions do generally have more images shown to the client due to having more detail shots and “in between” moments included.

After a typical photo session, I’m showing between 20-35 images (depending on session type).  I’ve found that this range of images give you a variety of looks and poses, the best of the best, without overwhelming you.  When galleries become quite large, they tend to lose their impact, as many images are nearly identical.  If a gallery is pared down to this palatable number, it really does a fantastic job of showcasing your session.

It’s my philosophy when it comes to number of images that less is more.  That being thoughtful about your portraits leads to greater connection and meaning behind the moments they reflect.

You deserve quality portraits, and I would love to help create them for you!
