The Magical Blue Hour in Photography

22/52 {Dusk}  This week’s theme for my Project 52

A lot of people know about or have at least heard of the Golden Hour when it comes to taking photos.  It the hour or so just before the sun sets or after it rises.  Everything is bathed in this beautiful golden light… It’s gorgeous!

There’s also this magical time called the Blue Hour.  But that’s deceiving, because it certainly doesn’t last an hour.  It’s the light just before the sun comes up and after it sets.  Dusk, Twilight, Dawn.  There’s this beautiful blue light that gives everything such a peaceful feeling.  You have to be kind of quick, depending on where you are, because it’s fleeting, but my goodness is it beautiful!

This guy has my heart forever.  I’ve taken so many photos of him fishing over the years.  But I’ll always take another.  We spent last weekend camping at Inks lake and it was so incredible to get away for bit to relax and recharge.  We had an absolute blast and on the way home stopped into Longhorn Cavern State Park for a tour.  AMAZING!  We had so so much fun!  Did you know they had a speakeasy in the caverns in the 20’s during prohibition?!  They did.  And that is awesome.
