Something to Remember | Week 22 of Project 52

This week’s theme for my personal photography project is “Something to Remember”.  We are about to embark on a cross-country move and the chaos of sorting, purging, and packing has officially begun!  I personally LOVE going through things, organizing and getting rid of stuff we don’t need, so it’s not a difficult task for me.  The tricky part comes with my three year old “helping”, which really consists of him deciding that he cannot live without whatever object I’ve just put in the “give away” or “trash” pile!  So it goes…

I did find some treasure this week though!  Years ago, before moving to Montana, there was a period of time where my husband was working some insane hours and we literally didn’t see each other for days at a time.  I was working a more typical 8am-6pm schedule and he was working more of a 12pm-2am schedule. It was not fun.

We would write each other little notes in passing.  Just saying “hi”, and “I miss you”, and “I love you”, but they were a way to let each other know that we were thinking about each other.  Of course we also talked on the phone each day, but it was nice to wake up in the morning to a little scribble of a note from my sweetie.  These little love notes are something I’ll always hold on to, and I’m so happy to have come across them this week as Joel’s been out of town working and I miss him!

So here’s my “Something to Remember”…
