Portrait Session with Jasper Martin | Cosplay in Missoula
I know I say again and again how much I love meeting the people I get to photograph, but it's so very true! I love getting to know a little bit about each and every person that steps in front of my camera. It's the best job in the entire world.
I also love sewing and costumes and beautiful clothing, so when I was put in contact with the lovely Jasper Martin, a costumer and student at the University, I was doubly excited! She designs and sews her own costumes for both theater productions and cosplay. If you don't know what this is, Wikipedia defines cosplay as, "a contraction of the words costume play, a performance art in which participants called cosplayers wear costumes and fashion accessories to represent a specific character."
I define it as, "AMAZING"! I am in awe of everyone that participates in designing and creating these beautiful and awesome costumes. I was thrilled when she wanted to do a photo shoot! And apparently, there is a cosplay convention every Memorial Day weekend here in Missoula, called MisCon, which you can check out HERE!
I am so happy to share this session with you! As I've said before, portraits are for everyone, every style and every genre. We did several looks for her shoot, including Selene from the Underworld movies and Fujiko Mine, from the Lupin III series. And I love them all!
Without further ado, the lovely and extremely talented, Jasper Martin!
